Sustainer is looking for various BIM modelers and technical drafters who can develop projects in our innovative system and collaborate with our partners to find smart technical solutions for new detailing.

Despite being an international team, for this specific role, we are currently only seeking candidates who are fluent in Dutch.

Sustainer was founded in 2015 with the goal of radically transforming the construction sector into a sustainable one. Over the past years, we have undergone a transformation from a company that designed sustainable homes ourselves to a software company that supports major construction firms in the industrial production of large-scale circular homes. The coming year promises numerous positive developments: we are entering into collaborations with new partners, working on increasingly extensive and complex projects, and refining and making our systems more sustainable to enhance their effectiveness.

As a part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the detailed development of these projects. At the same time, you will contribute to further improvements and expansions of our systems. In the coming months, we have plans to add multiple technical drafters to our team, ranging from junior to senior levels. Whether you are at the beginning of your drafting career or have extensive experience and can guide projects and colleagues, we encourage you to feel welcome and apply!

This is what you will be doing:

As a bridge builder between our engineers and software developers at the office, external technical advisors, and team members on the construction site, your task is to ensure that we continually raise the bar in our projects when it comes to form, architecture, and possibilities. With a deep understanding of our product, constraints, and principles, you will delve into the details, participate in research, and translate all of this into clear drawings.

In your role, you will develop projects and generate our workshop drawings in Rhino. You will collaborate with the engineering team to devise smart solutions for complex technical (detail) challenges, and you will convert these into 3D models using AutoCAD or Rhino. Additionally, you will sit at the table with various parties such as contractors, structural engineers, and building physicists to discuss these detailed aspects.

You have extensive experience -

as a technical draftsman or BIM modeler, preferably within the (timber) construction sector, and you have a strong affinity for technical detailing.

You effortlessly connect the design process with construction practices.

You have experience with Rhino, or you are open to expanding your AutoCAD /Revit skills to include Rhino.

There are additional bonus points if you are familiar with creating CNC drawings.

Picking up the phone and initiating discussions with contractors or advisors is something you are comfortable with.

In our international team, English is the primary language, so it's important that you can communicate effectively. This is particularly crucial for collaborating with the software team. At the same time, having an excellent command of the Dutch language is essential for facilitating communication with our external partners.

You are comfortable in a hybrid work environment; working independently from home or in a quiet office suits you well.

You will (partially) work from our inspiring office, located in a 'box-in-box' concept that we developed ourselves, in the Werkspoorfabriek in Utrecht.

The number of working hours is flexible and will be tailored to your internal responsibilities. The workweek varies between a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 40 hours.

For your dedication, we offer a competitive salary, depending on your knowledge and experience, ranging from €2800 to €4000 gross based on a full-time position.

We provide a flexible pension plan.

Full reimbursement of travel expenses.

You are entitled to 25 vacation days.

Additionally, you can choose some national holidays that are important to you. If you prefer to celebrate, for example, Eid or Keti Koti instead of Pentecost, there is the possibility to swap days.
